Fresh Is The New Healthy ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Viviana Buendia from Miami, Florida. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

We believe in being straightforward. This policy is written in plain language so you can actually understand it.

When you use our website and services, we may collect the following:

• Account information: Your name and email address (provided through Google sign-in).
• Preferences: Your language preference (English or Spanish).
• Usage data: Recipes you save, meal plans you create, and shopping lists you generate.
• Payment information: If you subscribe to Mi Cocina, payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the service (your account, saved recipes, meal plans).
• Process subscription payments through Stripe.
• Send you important emails about your account, such as welcome messages, billing confirmations, and service updates.
• Improve our content and features based on how the service is used.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

3. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate Fresh Is The New Healthy:

• Firebase (Google): Handles authentication (sign-in) and stores your account data, saved recipes, and preferences.
• Stripe: Processes subscription payments securely. Stripe has its own privacy policy.
• SendGrid: Sends transactional emails (welcome emails, billing notifications). SendGrid has its own privacy policy.

We do not currently use any analytics or tracking services.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to:

• Maintain your authentication state (keep you signed in).
• Remember your language preference.
• Store temporary data for features like the shopping list and meal planner.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and saved content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our systems within a reasonable timeframe. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period as part of our standard infrastructure.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data: Request a copy of the personal information we have about you.
• Delete your account: Request that we delete your account and associated data.
• Update your information: Correct any inaccurate information in your account.

7. Children's Privacy

Fresh Is The New Healthy is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We take the security of your data seriously. Authentication and data storage are handled by Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure). Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. We use industry-standard security practices, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
