Green Plantain Bites with Feta & Spicy Honey

These remind me of the tostones I grew up eating in Cartagena, always golden from my abuela's kitchen. I gave them my own twist with crumbled feta and spicy honey. The contrast of salty cheese against that sticky sweetness is irresistible.

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400F.
  2. Peel plantains and slice into 1/2-inch rounds.
  3. Toss with avocado oil, garlic powder, paprika, and salt.
  4. Arrange in single layer in air fryer.
  5. Air fry 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden.
  6. Combine honey and red pepper flakes.
  7. Transfer to platter.
  8. Top with feta, drizzle spicy honey.
  9. Garnish with herbs.

Vivi's Notes

For extra heat, add cayenne to the honey. Serve immediately while warm and crispy. These are grain-free and perfect as appetizer or snack.
